Beaufort/Hilton Head Fly Fishing

Hello everyone. I just joined this forum and am new to fly fishing. I heard the fishing in Beaufort is great, and am moving to Hilton Head area in a few months. What better time to take up fly fishing!

I also am going to be bass fishing in some local ponds in the area. Do you have any advice on the best equipment for this? I was thinking I would spring for a very good rod and reel, both saltwater, 8 weight. But how about fly line and leaders?

Also, any books or videos that you think I must have?
