Sounds like a great day. It is a shame that the sharks had to interfere. Good to see you used the appropriate tackle for the job. There are times that fly tackle is not the right tool.

youre right about proper gear for the job. I really dont think 10-12 lb test mono and 30# leaders were really the right choice either. had fun though.

Lake Pan is very low, I think Traceys point is almost dried up. you guys have been in a drought longer than us folks down here in So. Fl. I used to live up there (webster off 471)

it was a blast!

we are going again after we get the boat fixed. the oil/fuel injector valve went on the motor. 2 weeks after this coming weekend. woohoo....

a buddy of mine went out to chocoloskee thursday-saturday and caught over 40 snook, 3 keeper reds and a number of sea trout.

boat is fixed, needed to replace the vro pump (fuel oil mixer valve). if we have nice weather tommorrow night we are going to N. Biscayne for some snook. hope it dosnt rain past 5:00 tommorrow night

We went 4 for 12 on permit free lining shrimp, 1 cobia, a spanish makerel, and 2 pompano 1 of which I chased around the skiff before he and I both were in the water. He was about 3-5 lbs. brought the fly rod out again for permit and again sharks ended the battle. One of the guys was bringing a bluefish up into the boat and got sharked About a 5-7' bull shark came out of nowhere and took the fish. It go to the point that to bring fish into the boat we needed to use traditional gear and run them down with the trolling motor to keep the sharks from having a snack. Did manage to hook a hammerhead and tusseled with him for a few minutes. ALL IN ALL IT WAS AN EXCELLENT DAY.
