you might want to look at ocean kayaks they make a nice wide stable boat and are easy to fish from.

Especially given your location, I would recommend going with a sit-on-top. I like Perception kayaks the best. Sit On Top Kayaks - Perception Kayaks In general, their boats are faster than most, while a touch less stable. (very little danger of dumping yourself out, just can't stand and fish on them)
I would recommend gettnig one in the 13-16' range, as they track much more straightly, making them still faster.

you also might want to look at Hobie
View all Hobie Kayaks a lot of manufacturers are coming out with some specific models for fishing I do have to agree with Cliff, a sit-on-top in the 13-16' range that is wide and stable will get you where you want to go safely and easily. no matter the brand you choose you definitely will need a high quality back rest, a mid-range paddle made for s.o.t. kayaks, (the handle is slightly longer and the blade is a bit wider), and some dry bags for your gear.

Just seems a little odd for me, might work well for someone else.
You know, I'm not sure my big feet would fit in there.  Would you feel comfortable standing in it on moving water? After looking at the picture again, I see what could be an issue, look at all the riffles coming off it in the back ground, I would be concerned with putting feeding fish down on calmer waters.

I agree that its a cool concept, but identify more closely with fyshstrkr's concerns. For the type of fishing shown in that picture, and especially over moving water, I'd rather have a pontoon.
