snook fishing
I am heading out tonight to do some snook fishing, hopefully I will have some pictures to post tomorrow (if the wind dies down, its blowing 15-20)

Frank,
had to scrub the mission, the wind was 15-20 out of the north. It was just plain nasty, we were in the intercoastal and could not catch a break from the wind. I will keep you posted. I think friday night we are headind out to Fisher Island/Port of Miami for some snook/tarpon. (if the weather cooperates)

(snook)fighting...they are like a freight train, they will head for any type of structure thats around to get that hook out. these fish can get up to 50+ pounds. the average is around 15 lbs. and can grow up to 40+ inches. its a whole lotta fish that can disappear at the drop of a hat in 10" of water. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...r223/snook.jpg This is one that a high school buddy of mine caught up in Sebastion, Fl a few years ago on a live finger mullet ( the bait was about 6-8" long) I believe this fish weighed somewhere around 20-25 lbs. and took him about 20 min. on spinning gear and braided line. tablefare....I prefer trout, if you dont prepare snook properly they have a "soapy" taste to them. back in the old days they were reffered to as soapfish and were considered a "trashfish". Now they are a prized fish

Nice! Sounds like a great time. Where you are, there are plenty of great eating fish so to have one that gets that big and puts up a good fight, I could deal with hooking into some of those and throwing them back all day long.

its a beautiful thing... between the keys and the indian river on the east coast ant everglades n.p. to tampa bay on the west coast. it will definitly boost your skills.
