South Florida Bonefishin'

For those fellow flyfishers up north that are planning a trip down here in spring, you cant beat the bone fishing in South Biscayne Bay. Both of these were caught out of my presence (and not on fly!!!). They were taken on shrimp this past saturday. Marc and Greg were fishing the south west of biscayne bay and managed to spook more than they caught. serves them right for not taking me.

Make no "bones" about it there are some quality fish on the flats.

DOOD, those are LARGE! Shame they were dishonored with bait.

I'm SO glad to be within a fairly short drive to saltwater again.

South End of Biscayne Bay. google earth or flash earth and look up biscayne bay, south of the port around coral gables.

Re: South Florida Bonefishin'

I'll be fishin for real saturday, due to a change in scheduling, though only for bass and panfish since I've only got my light rods with me. Didn't grab my waders or boots either, either so I'm glad its supposed to be quite warm saturday.

River I'm headed to is kinda pretty-

Im on the next flight out San Antonio, ill bring you some gear.....J/K.

looks like you are in for some good fishing. there is nothing wrong with catching large mouth and small mouth. those spots look great for gettin some serious fish. hope you have a full day of rod bending action.
