first salmon rod for
Hello!
What you think about? For somebody new to salmon fishing 15ft 10/11 AFTM rod is OK to try first casts or maybe 14ft 9/10 is better?? Regards, http://www.fishing-uk.net/ KK

You use odd verbiage for a Glaswegian.
I'd recommend starting out with a 9' 8wt.

Hello!
I'v got last year 10' 7AFTM, and with 7/8 AFTM shooting head + 0.6MM inter running line is work fantastic for trouts! Now I'm looking for some salmon rod. Regards, KK

Hi FlyPol,
Since you are asking about a 9/10 or 10/11 rod I must assume that you will be fishing for King Salmon. King Salmon in the 50 to 90 pound range needs a 10/11 weight rod. So I would go with the length of your choice in a 10/11 weight rod. Now If you are fishing Atlantic or Silver Salmon a one handed 8wt would be a good choice. Frank
