so basically i need help decideing on a 3wt. i have looked at a few companies(sage, redington, orvis, and many others) and cant find one thats 7'5 and a 3wt. the only one i have found that is close to that is the sag launch, but i am not sure of a few things on the sage, does the launch come with a lifetime warranty? what is the action on it? if you have any other suggestions, feel free to voice them. id like something 7'5 and a med, or med fast action, and thats between 100 and 200 bucks. i am still on kind of a tight budget, even though i have a job thanks for all the help guys!

I believe the Launch is replacing the DS2 line.

The launch is a fantastic rod with a lifetime warranty. It carries all the perks as the rest of the Sage line.

I would like to recommend a different stick to you though. Albright GP (general practitioner). This rod is one of the finest rods I have ever used. Lifetime warranty and made by the guy who started Redington. I can honestly tell you that I have not cast a smoother rod then these in any price range. Now, get this, they are only $95. They do not come with a tube but then again, at that price, I think you can afford one. Check them out.

I've got a TFO pro series 3wt I found covered in muck at the bottom of a river. It casts really nicely, over 60' even. It's 8'6" long, but I actually prefer longer rods. I think it sells for about $140, unconditional lifetime warranty as well.

thanks for all the relpys guys! i actually forgot about TFO! hahaha. i casted one at sportsmans in AZ. really good rods for the price. curtis, thanks for the links on albright. they appear to be really good rods. anyone who offers lifetime warranty s on there bottom line, mustbelieve in what they make. i think i have it narrowed down to 3 rods now, the Sage Launch, Albright GP, and TFO Pro Series. i am going to cast the TFO and Sage today. once again thanks for the help guys!

Just thought of another one, the ECHO 7'6" 3wt. The ECHO rods are great medium fast action 4pc rods that go for about $140. Steve's shop, www.thefullcreel.com sells them and he does a 14-day test drive program. I'd say that's worth a shot.

You absolutely must consider the ECHO 7'6" 4pc 3wt. These are fantastic rods at a tremendous bargain. They also come with a rod tube... more than I can say for TFO. These rods are finished in a beautiful deep green and looks like the $600 rods their compitition is putting out. At only $129.95 they are a steel. You owe it to yourself to take a look.

i went and tested a few rods today. orvis clear water, sage launch, and TFO(the 90$ one) and the only one i really liked was the sage. but at the shop i went to, they wanted 220 plus tax. so i said thank you very much, but it was a little outta my price range. so i looked at what was posted last night and today, and i am now seriously looking at the ECHO rod a few suggested. so Steve, whatare your thoughts on that rod? thanks for all the help guys!

To be honest with you... at first, I was a little skeptical of these new ECHO rods. Having never seen them I decided to go ahead, get the dealership and list them on my web site without stocking them. So, I did not stock them in my shop. The ECHO rods soon became my biggest internet seller. I then assumed that they must have their act together so I ordered some to stock in my shop. The rod that I was the most interested in was the 7'6" 3wt because I love small stream fishing. When the rod came in I eagerly took it out of the tube and was amazed at the beauty of this value priced fly rod. Then... when I cast it I fell in love with it. If you have a local ECHO dealer, you should go try one... I'm sure you'll like it. If you prefer to get the rod from a local dealer that's certainly OK with me.
