Re: Moderate/Fast Rod - But what line?
I'm going to give the Rio Grand a try to see if it helps me get a feel for my new (first) rod loading and unloading.
I have a Cabelas outfit with a 5wt. PT+ rod; moderate action; which came with Cabelas Prestige Plus WF line. Right now I seem to have to watch my line to really know when it loads and unloads. I'm hoping the Grand line will give me some sense of feel as to the loading and unloading. Right now I'm practicing on a neighbors pond but I'll be mighty glad when our local shop and or club schedules some beginning casting classes. The local streams won't open till mid April and there's still a ton of snow in the Sierra so it'll still be awhile before I get on the water but I am definitely chomping at the bit. ![]() |
