Need advice on rigging fly rod
I am new to fly fishing and haven't a clue as to how to rig my rod for basic action. I have a "Black Eagle" rod by "Eagle Claw" and says "line size 8" on it. I need to know what to do to get started..kind of line, leader, flies, what do I need?..and the tip is broken at the very top..know of any repair kits out there? Thanks for your help

Hi googoo,
I think the best thing you can do is to contact a local fly shop. They can repair your rod and help you with the startup of fly fishing. You would also benefit from a basic book on fly fishing. Frank

Rod repair is generally difficult to impossible. It sounds like you may just need to put a new tip-top on your rod at the point where it is broken off.
You'll need an 8 weight line (aka WF8F), backing, a 12 lb 7.5' tapered leader, and some other stuff. Frank's right, consulting a fly shop would be your best bet. The search function on this site will uncover lots of info for you.
