Re: Orvis Clearwater II Fly Rod...

I bought my son a 5wt Clearwater when he turned 16. Some 5 yrs ago. They are nice entry level rods. My sons is a VERY SLOW rod. If you like a slow rod I would say go for it.

Seth

I purchased two of them for client rods awhile back. I'm very pleased with them. They cast like a much more expensive rod. Check out my earlier post on them here Orvis Clearwater II 906 2 Mid Flex 7.5

Re: Orvis Clearwater II Fly Rod...

The Clearwater II is an updated version of the original. It is also apparently faster than the original. I recently purchased a 5 wt for my nephew and love it so much that I am considering trying a 3 wt for myself. Its responsiveness reminds me somewhat of my 5 wt Helios.

Nice rod for relatively little money.
