I owned an Americana 8 wt, and it was very smooth lawn casting. Never
had it on the water, but it's definitely in the medium-medium+ category.
The people I spoke with at Diamondback swear the Americana is/was made
in the USA. Prices are very reasonable, but you may have to buy it in 2-pc
configuration.
Thanks for the info! I decided to get the Diamondback Americana (9' 5-wt) in a 3-piece arrangement. I'm planning on using it tomorrow and I'll report back on how it fishes.

For those who are looking for fiberglass fly rods there is also the Steffen Brothers. They have been making fiberglass and graphite rods for some time. They have years of experience in making their own fiberglass blanks.

Re: Scott or Diamondback

Hi Seth, I forgot to mention that the Americana I owned was built very
nicely. FishUSA seems to have a large supply of Americana rods, and
the price is right.....
