Searching for a certain rod

About a year ago I had a guide in Colo that was using a 0wt rod that I think was a Sage. It was distinct in the fact that the reel was built into the handle. It may have been a 1wt but it was very short and light and a blast on small trout. He said it was no longer made. I would like to find one if possible. Does anyone know what model this was?

Sage does produce a 0wt rod in their TXL series. I think it's a 7' 10" 3-piece. You might try an internet search for others. (Be sure to use the number '0' and not the letter 'o' for the searth, otherwise you might end up with a bunch of Old Wives Tales. )

I know of the one you're referring to, but can't recall the model/series name. I don't think it was available in anything over a 4wt, and can't recall seeing one after 2000 or so.

It was definitely a Sage though, so you're on the right track there.

But good luck, cuz i really google-hunted and can't find anything.

J. Austin Forbes makes a tiny fly rod and reel. Kind of curious. The site is: jaustinforbes.com/micro.html I can't imagine catching any thing but a goldfish on it. Might be interesting. Frank (S.D.)
