8 should I return rod???

I bought a new rod about 2 wks ago. Cost me $150.It is a Streamside Serenity Gx2.It's 9'0" LW8/9.My problem is where the rod connects to the cork handle,it is loose there(if you hold the handle and move the rod side to side there is some play.)Is this reason enough to take rod back to dealer? If so should I replace it with the same brand or get a different brand , what brand would you suggest for the same price range(150-200).Any help will be appreciated very much.Thank you.

Re: should I return rod???

Most definitely take it back. Look at and try the following rods:

Echo Classic Series (Echo 890-4x) 9', 8 wt. medium fast action rod. $159.99
Echo Classic Series (Echo 990-4x) 9', 9 wt. fast action rod. $159.99

Temple Fork Outfitters Lefty Kreh Professional Series (TFO8904P)
9', 8 wt. medium fast action rod $149.95

Temple Fork Outfitters Lefty Kreh Professional Series (TFO9904P)
9' 9 wt. medium fast action rod $149.95

There are additional rods that you may want to look at and try, and I'll let some others chime in on those. Again, I would most definitely return the rod.
