starter combo suggestions-- so many choices
I'm fairly new to the sport and would like to get my wife a kit for $100-$150 as she'll probably only go a few times a year. What are some good quality choices that are well backed? I've seen combos from Reddington, Cortland, St. Croix, and Cabelas mostly....though most seem to be 2 piece.
I'd like to get her 8'6" 5wt rod with a decent reel for fishing mostly in AR tailwaters.

Thanks....is there a performance or durability difference between 2 pc and 4 pc rods in this price range?

There used to be some flex issues with 4pc rods compared to 2pc, but those days now have passed. You will generally find however that the same model rod from the same mfg will likley cost a bit more in 4pc config than it does in 2pc. This accurately reflects higher materials and labor costs for 4pc rods.
