BURK, I don't know about the Lamiglass 7' 4wt. I read something somewhere that either they were discontinuing or the price was going up so I ordered another blank and it is waiting to be put together.
There is two types of glass that I am aware of. Type "E" which is a softer cast like the Lamiglass and the Mc Farland. Then there is the "S" which is a faster cast and that is the Steffen. I am not familiar with diamondglass so not sure where they fall. FYI, Diamondglass has posted that they are farming out overseas so you might wanna grab one before they do.
There is also a PARABOLIC which you will feel right down to the cork.
You can get great deals on good glass blanks and then just go crazy. I know I did.

Cliff, those are the good ones, LOL I am fishing with an EAGLE CLAW 7' 5 wt I got off e-bay for $10. and it is BRaND NEW LOL that should tell what it looks like. I could feed a water skiing rope through those guides....but it is fun.

Yes, Joni, you're right. It's a Scientific Anglers System 5, being a five-weight fiberglass rod matched with a Hardy-made Marquis five-weight reel. Still use the reel on my Sage SP 589-5, but thinking maybe I'm not giving the S.A. fiberglass 5-weight rod due credit. After all, I caught the largest trout I've ever caught on it (19" cutthroat) in the Grand Tetons on a 7xx tippit, no doubt due to the tippit-protective nature of the flexible S.A. 5-weight fiberglass rod.
