Re: Reel ? and help pick a new one
Look at some of the closeout deals on last year's Lamson Velocity. There's still a few #2 reels (4-6 wt) around for about 150 or so, not bad since the new version (the hard alox finish) will set you back about 230. Spools are generally around 100-110. I just ordered my second one for my 3 wt and they've been tough, fantastic reels with a conical drag that's super smooth. Heck, if you got it and didn't like it, I'd probably take it off your hands

Re: Reel ? and help pick a new one
As stated before the Okuma SLV, bobo00700 machined aluminum, and the Cabela's Prestige Plus are good bang for the buck lower priced reels. They will all offer good performance. You can find all of these on the internet or ebay at places like fishwest/ bobo00700/ or Cabela's. Being that the Full Creel is a sponser of this sight, I would also see what they would have to offer.
