I am thinking about purchasing a sage 709 loop fly reel to take to Alaska Salmon fishing. I have never heard of a sage reel built by loop. Anyone know anything about this reel and would it be good for Salmon, it is an 8wt
reel. Just fishing |

Re: sage 709 fly reel by loop
If it were me I would get a Torque Reel by Galvan. Oh wait I did.. It is the best reel on the market if you ask me.

Re: sage 709 fly reel by loop
I suppose this is the one you're talking about. http://cgi.ebay.com/SAGE-MODEL-709-F...QQcmdZViewItem They've established themselves as great reels over the years. If you can get it cheap, I think it would be worth you while, but there are superior reels out there now in terms of drag, weight, and such.
