Knots

If you want to get into a really thorny discussion, try Knots. Since I would rather fish than tie, give a yell with your queastions or opinion. Remember, when a knot is not, it's not...

Doug, what do you consider the best knot for attaching the fly to the end of the tippet?

Hi Gordon,

I normally, generally, usually, and most always use the Duncan's Loop or Uni-Knot system. It has never failed me and it's so flexible ... for forming a shock leader to snelling a hook. The best description of the Uni-Knot system is in the Book of Knots from Ande Monofilament ... and it's FREE! Simply call 561-842-2474 or FAX 561-848-6638.

I leave the connection, fly to tippet, in a loop coonfiguration. The fly swims freely on the loop; and when a strike occurs, the loop buffers the impact for that instant it takes for the loop to close against the hook.

Doug
