Ear plugs, the foam ones, I use them at my job and putting one in my ear I thought...wait...they float...they are a bright color...and cheap...I get them for free....What do you all think???

I would think the orange one's shaped like, well Pac-Man's enemies would work well. I'm pretty sure they are closed-cell foam and this wouldn't absorb water. The cylindrical yellow ones I've seen appear to be open cell foam and would get water-logged and heavy as the day went on.

Great Idea for nymphing! I'll try it. Now I've got a use for the used fluorescent red/yellow plugs I use for shooting.

Punch a hole in the middle or lengthwise and thread your leader. The self sealing nature of earplugs will tighten around the leader.

I'm thinking those would work well with knotted leaders. Maybe thread them on where the knot can hold the plug in place.

They work. Use a slip knot & put one in the loop & snug it tight
