SA System X Waterproof Nymph Fly Box

Has anyone tried the SA System X Waterproof Nymph Fly Box? I just picked one up today to keep my dry flies, well dry! This is a link to thier website for thier product:http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure/sc..._systemx.jhtmlIt comes in several models in multiple colors and replaceable/interchangeable inserts for different size flys and one with two large compartments for storing other items. In addition to the previously mentioned design features, they appear to be able to handle some abuse in the field and return in one piece. I'll report later on how it works out for me.

Re: SA System X Waterproof Nymph Fly Box

I have 2 of the SA System X Waterproof Dry Fly Boxes and really have enjoyed using them. They can hold up pretty well for the amount of abuse that I have put them through so far. They do float but I wouldn't just let it sit in the water for to terriable long before I believe it would start to leak.

I like the ability to be able to see the flies without opening the box. You can set it up so that you have dry flies on one side and nymphs if you want on the the other. All and all I like the versitility of this box and would buy it again.

The going rate for one is about $21 bucks. The Walmart close to the trout stream I fish at usually has it for about $16.95 (I think, I know its less than what Academy sales it for) which is a great price.

Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Terry

How long have you been using this box? I am curious as to how long until the foam pads need replacement? Other than that it appears to look well worth the $21 I paid for it.

I think I've been using it for about 9 months. Seems to be holding up to this point. I'll let you know as time goes by.
Thanks,
Terry

Re: SA System X Waterproof Nymph Fly Box

I have about six of the boxes, all different configurations. I love the nymph one with the little box compartment in the corner. I have several cartridges also. I can't see them failing in any way at all. Very well built.
Walmart has some for $16.95, that is where I got my first, second or maybe the forth one Tuff Boxes

Re: SA System X Waterproof Nymph Fly Box

I have 2 yellow(Dry Fly) Inserts
adn both Blue and Green Nymph Inserts
I keep them all in the luggage box
that's where I organize my flies while tying
then I'll just take the insert with me while i go fishing.
I use the Mayfly Troutfisher Lanyard.
But I took out the tippet system and
replaced it with a System X Box.
I believe the Inserts are only $10
It's a good deal
