western MD trophy flyfishing

The area right around Grantsville, MD (12 miles west of Frostburg and a little bit east of Deep Creek Lake) has had excellent fishing this week.

The Casselman River has trophy fish. I hooked onto a huge trout -- felt like a truck on the end of my line!

The area has motels and bed and breakfast inns. One is right on the Casselman River. Spring is very good on the Casselman.

Nearby, the Savage River was getting a lot of action. Separate flyfishing only areas, etc. Beautiful scenery, even tho spring not quite arrived.

Worth a look-see.
