Where to fish around Omaha?

Does anybody have any good information in regards to fishing around Omaha? Just looking for some lakes and possibly moving water if possible. In terms of the type of fish I don't even really know whats around here but if somebody would be willing to fill me in on places, fish and materials it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot

Curtis

Good luck with that man! I've got family around Omaha, Columbus, and Lincoln, but none of them are fly anglers. I know many of the larger lakes in Nebraska have lots of walleye and white bass, but it can be tough either to get out there and to get a fly down to a walleye. I would look around for smallish creeks that feed into the rivers that pour into the Mississippi and see what you can pull out of those.

For fly tying materials, I know that the Cabela's store closest to me has LOTS of tying materials. I would guess there's one close to you too.

Try this link, it is for Nebraska Game and Parks. I didn't look through thoroughly but usually the state web sites have good starting information.
