LMF River and Beaver's Bend State Park Closed

The Lower Mountain Fork Trout fishery and Beavers Bend State Resort Park in Southeast Oklahoma are closed until further notice. Broken Bow Lake is at a record high level, the generators are running at full capacity and two Spillway gates have been opened. At 8:00 PM, a severe thunderstorm and a tornado warning were in effect for McCurtain County, so the situation is probably going to get worse before it improves.

You can follow the lake level and water release amounts on the "Generating" page of the LMFR Foundation Website.

We can only hope and pray there is no loss of life associated with this situation and that the physical damage is minimized. As we get more news we'll try to keep everyone informed. Jesse King's shop is outside the park on high ground, but Sid Ingram's Beaver's Bend Fly Shop is right in the path of the high water. He has already removed all his inventory from the shop. Keep all these people in your thoughts and prayers.

the trout stream at Beavers Bend has been reopened. Spillway Creek is running high and muddy, but you can check the conditions and photos by visiting Jesse King's Three Rivers Fly Shop website. Here it is again:

Conditions are still dangerous in the area, so if you are going, be extremely careful.

That's great to hear. Any word on how Sid's shop held up?
