I use the tool most of the time, but if it's buried & I can.t find it I'll use the fingers... & Sally's Hard As Nails.. I trim the little brush applicator on the bottle cap to a point with a razor & can use it on just about any size fly

Hi lindmar,
Here is a link to a page that has a video showing how to whip finish with you fingers. It works well and is quicker than picking up the tool and laying it back down, at least for me. Frank
