TU Conservation and Fishing Camp - VA 6/22-27
Check out Trout Unlimited Conservation and Fishing Camp for all the info! Not just for beginners, experienced teenage flyfishers are sure to learn a great deal from highly experienced guides, FFF certified casting instructors, and conservation professionals.
The residential camp, which will be held for the fourth year this summer (June 22-27) at the Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, Virginia (next to the Shenandoah National Park), is for high school students, boys or girls, who will be in the 9th - 12th grades in September 2008. (Or who will be 13 years old by June 1) The camp is co-sponsored by the West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland/D.C. Trout Unlimited Councils. It's a great opportunity for someone who likes the outdoors, is interested in learning to fly fish for trout and tie flys, and would like to study entomology, stream mechanics and hydrology, and issues affecting water and air quality. Tuition is $550 for the week, and generous donors have created a pool of sponsorships for campers who are motivated to become conservationists but who might not be able to afford the camp. Thanks for all your support in previous years, now, and in the future! Paul Edit/Delete Message |
