NAFFF General Rules, Regulations and Forum Etiquette

Forum Membership Eligibility
Anyone can enter The North American Fly Fishing Forum (NAFFF) website and read posts. Certain privileges are only available to registered members. These privileges include access to the Photo Gallery, NAFFF Fly Fishing Videos, Arcade, The Shadow Cast Fly Fishing Newsletter and the Classifieds. In order to make posts you must first become a registered member. Registration to NAFFF is simple and free of charge.

The administrators and moderators of NAFFF endeavor to keep all unacceptable messages off of this forum. However, it may be impracticable for NAFFF to review all messages posted. It must be noted that all messages posted express the views of the author and are not necessarily the views of NAFFF, the administrators or the moderators. NAFFF will not guarantee the accuracy of the content of any post. NAFFF shall not be held responsible for the content of any message. NAFFF gives equal consideration to all members without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, gender, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, beliefs nor point of view.

Rules and Regulations

As a registered member of NAFFF you affirm that you will agree and adhere to the following rules and regulations.

Obscene or Threatening Posts
You will not post any messages that are vulgar, obscene, sexually orientated, hateful, threatening, or in violation of any laws of any North American country.

Rude or Insulting Posts
While debating and discussion is allowed, NAFFF will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, threats or purposeless inflammatory posts.

Meaningless or Short Posts
NAFFF requests that all members refrain from posting any message considered meaningless, very short or non-sense. If you express an opinion, please support that opinion with facts and useful information.

Post Count Manipulation
Multiple or repeated posting, or any other manipulation, in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

Advertising and Spamming Posts
Advertising and spamming is not allowed in posts. This also includes using the forum email and private message system to spam other members. NAFFF does not allow members to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users that advertise, promote or solicit any products, services or other websites. Explicit advertising in signatures is also prohibited. It is only allowable if the product or service is discussed as a direct answer to a previous post.

URL’s in Posts
You must be very careful when including URL’s or links in posts. A URL may only be included if it is part of a dialog of substantial content or a response to a previous post. Post that are an obvious spam attempt to direct members to another website will be immediately deleted without notification. An example of an illegal post would be… Come to my website at iamajerk.com.

URL’s in User ID
You may not include a URL as part of your User ID. .com, .net, .org, etc may not be included. Example: IamaJerk.com is not an acceptable User ID.

Only One Login Account
Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed. Multiple accounts with the same IP address will be investigated.

Image Posting Size Limits
Members shall not link to any images inside their message post that are wider than 550pxls. Oversize images will be deleted without notification.
Members may attach images to posts that are no larger than 620pxls x 280pxls with a total size no larger than 19.5kb. Valid file extensions are bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip

Signatures

Links in Signature
Linking to a commercial product or service is allowed, provided it is not a product or service that competes with any service offered by NAFFF.

Promotional Text in Signatures
Promotional text for a commercial product or service is allowed, provided there are no prices or discount amounts of products or services listed.

A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain products and/or services is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate NAFFF community standards. Duplicate links to the same URL in a signature are not allowed.

Rulings

The above rules and regulations cover most common situations, however, they cannot anticipate every situation. Consequently NAFFF reserves the right to take any actions it feels is appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

The NAFFF team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate it forum standards, rules and regulations. NAFFF reserves the right to remove unacceptable posts without notice. NAFFF also reserve the right to ban any member who willfully violates the forum rules. Each potential violation will be dealt with and finalized on a case-by-case basis. The decisions and rulings of NAFFF are final.
