Hey guys (and gals), I just bought my first rod and reel two weeks ago...so this is all new to me. I am looking forward to getting better (and actually catching fish). I have been fishing all my life, but this is a whole new deal. So far, I have been through 10 flies (in two weeks). Lost the first three the first hour "crack!", the rest were snags.

I live in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles county), so right now I'm pretty much practicing casting. Maybe later this summer I'll try my luck at the local lakes/ponds for bluegill and crappie. Then, if I get better, this fall will be trout! Hope you don't mind if I ask a lot of questions...I really don't know what I'm doing yet.

Thanks,

Sam

Re: New Member

I hope you enjoy flyfishing and catch lots of fish while doing it.
