New Oregon Member
Hi folks,
My name is Michael Webb., and I live just outside Eugene, Oregon. I am just getting back to fly fishing after a 30 year break, (I'm 51 - lost my wife suddenly 7 months ago, need a little fish therapy). There is no shortage of fly fishing water in my neck of the woods, and a lot more within a couple hour drive. My casting is beyond rusty, have been watching videos and practicing. Have been doing a lot of net research on gear and technique, and quizzing the local fly shops (3 good ones locally). I just built a rod wrapping jig, and have a package waiting at the post office with the stuff for a light steelhead, coastal cutthroat rod. It's a Dan Craft Ft blank, 10', 7 wt. I built some rods when I was in high school. In time, I hope to get into fly tying also. I love the info available in online forums, and thank you all for sharing your experience! regards, Michael |
