Totally agree -- check out the story I wrote in thread Fishing On The "Fly" in Fly Fishing Humor Forum -- and I think Labs can retrieve as well or better as any breed (or mix) -- and even retrieve large trout

That's a great story, thanks for sending me over there.

One of my dogs is a pretty wild Husky/Lab mix. When I'd take him out where there were fish around he'd go and catch a few by himself and pile them up at my feet so wasn't too hard to get him to start retrieving them for me. Just had to train him to stay away from them long enough for me to catch one, if I just let him go he doesn't seem to understand the bag limits.
