So if you see a strange vehicle driving slowly, with one of those camera domes on top, you know what their doing. The one that went around our cul de sac took shots from roughly the 8'-9' level.
I can go for a stroll all the way into and out of the sac, with a 360 degree view, all I have to do is scroll with the mouse.
Looks like I pass within 10' of my truck and trailer.

I just looked up the answer to my question. It appears that George Orwell was a pen name for someone, but it wasn't Orson Wells as I suspected, It was a Brittish author by the name of Eric Arthur Blair who was very well published and outspoken on his political views.

An update on this.
It would appear that 'Google' has crossed the line with this "Streetview" technology and gotten in some hot water.
