lead
Can anyone tell me, is the lead I use in certain flys harmful to fish or their habitat? I ask because once and a while I lose one and other times the fish will snap the line and make off with one.

Lead used in fishing lures may be poisoning wildlife
Keep in mind that using lead wire while tying flies puts you at risk of absorbing the stuff yourself. (eating with fingers prior to washing, etc)
