I am sure you guys are gone to bed.....but....I had a great day on the South Fork, but alas...caught no fish. I think someone forgot to tell them they were supposed to eat my rubber leg wooly bugger! What's up with that?

It was really windy though and for the first hour I just spent time untangling my line!

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Sorry about not writing sooner....my parent's came in to town somewhat unexpectedly and my Dad has been helping me get some stuff done around the house. I will probably be going out Saturday I think. Haven't decided where.

I did drive to Palisades Creek campground the other day and can't wait to take my 3 wt. rod there in the summer and camp for a couple days. That is a beautiful canyon. Anyone ever fished that creek?

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Never fish that creek Dorian. Look forward to a report. If it's good on a 3wt I'll dig mine out of moth balls and give it a go. The boss is getting his boat in shape for next Thursday or Friday. Boat ramps get cleared on Tuesday. May just be the two of us or another of our guides may join in. Give you guys a report on how the early season is here in Jackson.

Now I'm back out on patrol. Everyone have a great night.

So where all did you try?
I put a call in and the fish had planned on cooperating, cotton pickers!!

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

This seems to be a fairly active thread where its appropriate to ask something useless.

What consitutes a day of fishing, I am trying for 100 days this year, and i was sort of fishing yesterday, i caught 2 decent size browns............. but i only fished for about 30 minutes right along i-15 on a buisness trip to great falls.

I havent added that in yet, but does that count for a day of fishing? I counted days that i went fishless, but was out on the water for hours, that for sure constitutes a day.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

MTskibum;

Back when I lived in Philly and had what Dad referred to as a real job I fished on my lunch breaks. waders right over a Brooks Brothers suit. The best was hitting a little creek in Reading when I was on sales calls.

I counted those as days fishing. So I'd count yours as well!!

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Okay, finally jumped in here, and the water is nice and warm.....wait a minute, WHO PI$$ED! LOL just kidding.
SOOOO! Is lake "D" ice off or not. I got to play another weekend gig so I can buy a pair of those out of state licenses.
I adopted a young man on another forum that has got a nice honey hole on the Heise stretch and one I just can't tell you about, so I am dying to get up there.
For now I will stick to local waters. Trips up north might be shortened this year due to gas prices.
WILL be up there for sure in about three weeks for the Fly Tying Expo. I will be tying almost all day Friday, but Saturday...I wanna fish!

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Welcome to the shout out!! Where is Lake D? Think gas price are going to limit everybody. Have to wait and see if it cuts into my guiding. Hope not!!! The extra cash goes a long way towards making it through the winters.

Have to protect those honey noles! LOL. We all understand.
