Re: The "Shout out" thread....

I thought I was nymphing so....I guess not!

I never made it to the boat launch. I wasn't far upstream from some VERY sheer cliffs on the North side of the road. I know that probably doesn't help you, but that's all I got!

I had a brown #6 rubber leg woolly bugger about 8 ft. from an indicator. That's all. In hindsight, I wish I would have covered more water and tried another fly or 2.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

That should have worked, a dead drift bugger often works for a stonefly nymph and the size sounds ok maybe just a tad small.
how much wt did you have on?

Sounds like you were below Byington.

If we come up for the expo, your more than welcome to float with us for the day.
We would probably do the Dam to the bridge section, about 14 miles.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Yes, I was below Byington. You can get that far upriver on that dirt road? How much further past Byington does that road go?

Yeah, about the nymphing, I thought it should have worked also, but the fish had other ideas. Sometimes they just don't listen like I tell them too. Whatever.

I wanted to try a tandem rig, but it was so windy I had problems enough with the simple set up I was trying to lob around.

I would love to take you up on that offer (the float). As long as you have patience enough to put up with my beginner casting and knowledge.

Yea you can go up that dusty, bumpy, nasty boat trailer rattelin road about 10-12 miles, some really nice campgrounds, but that road get's soooooo dusty.

As far as being patient, we all had to start somewhere and I could bring my hard hat. lol

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Recommended I sell ole blue myself. I did not have time to write back about a test float. If I sell the Lavro vs trade it I will probably buy from Mountain Drift Boats in Victor. They sell Clacks.
