I know what you mean, yesterday I was headed out to one of the lakes over by Walden, but when I experienced the wind on the west end of town I just turned around and did some work around the yard. Way to windy for fly fishing. We'll have to do a fishing trip on the Poudre once the flows slow down a bit. I had dinner with a friend who was up on top of the Snowies this weekend and he said there is still a ton of snow up top so it looks like the run off will last awhile longer.

I am moving to wyoming!

I got an job in greybull, wyoming. I am only going to be down there for 2 months, but at least it allows me to live with my parents, so i can save up money to pay for college this fall, my 2 classes are going to run 1400 dollars.

But my dad loves to fish too, and my mom recently got into fishing as well. So it will be fun to spend one last summer hanging out with the parents, teaching them a thing or 2 on how to catch hawgs

I know, i havent been around much, but with high water and since i spent my stimulus check on a golf membership, i have been golfing quite a bit recently. After racking up 35 fishing days pretty quickly, i dropped off from that pace a fair bit, although i am still on pace for a hundred fishing days!

Even if the water clouded up once the warm weather settled in I'm pretty sure you should have clear water below Fontenelle. 2 weeks ago it was crystal clear up above, have not been down that way since. Try looking up the fly shop in Pinedale and giving them a call for a current report.

Sunday there was still about 20% ice still on Joe Wright and about 4 feet of snow on top of Cameron, the rafters are lovin it, the daugther keeps her horse at a stable right on the river so I'll keep an eye on when it starts clearing up and dropping.

You pick up your new rod yet? I'm anxious to hear about it in action. Might not be long before the water level on the SF goes up. Palisades is 75% full, Jackson is full. All the water flowing in will have to be let out soon. That is already equalized at Jackson Lake. Palisades is only letting out about 12000 but it has 25000 flowing in. Once it is full they will have to open the dam full tilt. Might make the SF a wild ride. Water flow in the whitewater stretch above Palisades reached it's highest level in 9 yrs this week. 9yrs ago was when they had runoff that caused flooding and lasted till August. Should be done by second week of July but flooding could be part of it.

Sounds like the same conditions in the Snowy's from what I hear. I'm headed up that way on Saturday so I will see first hand. Keep me posted on the Poudre.

Fysh

Did you buy the new fly rod, if so be sure to keep us posted on how it casts.

You get your boat refurb kit yet?

Wow that is a lot of water flowing into Palisades. Must be a site to see for sure. Wouldn't be surprised to hear of flooding once they open the gates.
