Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Dave,
We ended up just coming home, decided it was silly to get a room for 6 hrs if we were going to head out to fish @ 5:00 am. So now we will just hit the lake on Sunday morning instead.

Thanks for a great day, and for doing the majority of the rowing. That wind was tough.

Fysh

Thanks for giving me the call!! I had a great time. Glad you folks made it home safe and sound. No worries about the rowing, it's what I do. I enjoy watching people fish as much as I enjoy doing it my self. All guides are vicarious fly fishers!! LOL.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hey All

Well I have been overwhelmed with with work and personal crap so fishing has taken a back burner. It does not look too good for the near future either. Made it out two weeks ago for an evening float on the Salt river. It was okay for about an hour and a half till some real nasty Thunderstorms chased us off the river. Turned out we were in the middle of a large system that prompted flash flood warnings for the Salt and South Fork. Did manage to hook one good browny on a yellow Zoo Cougar.

So who has been out lately? Whats fishing hot?

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hi Dave,
Well that stinks!! hope things improve soon.

Been crazy here too, one of my crew has quit so he can go back to school, so I've been training a new guy, I hate training new people.

What's the word on your part of the river?

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hi to all,

You guys don't get a lot of time to fish between run off and Winter. Too bad you are all having problems that keep you off the water. We are facing a bad storm right now and when it isn't raining it is hotter than you know what. Another month and and the weather will be a lot better for fishing. I am all set to hit the Rainbow River for some bass. The water is spring fed and super clear. You have to use a Fluro leader or the fish move off. If anybody has seen the Essence of Fly Casting there is a scene on the Rainbow River. Its good to see Davo and Fysh posting again. We miss you guys.

Frank

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hi Frank

I have seen that scene on the Rainbow River. That is some very clear water. Hope you have a great time. I'm trying to decide between X-Mas and Thanksgiving for my fall trip to the Keys. Thanksgiving is better bone fishing but more family will be there at X-Mas. I'm leaning towards fishing!!! LOL.

Hey Fish

Our part of the river is PERFECT right now. I'm itching to get out. Till we get a new guy hired for the airport detail I'm down to one day off a week. Have to find somebody who can fish on Thursdays.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hi Frank & Dave,
Winter will be here quickly and I'm certain the post count will go way up. Hot cup of Coffee and the computer will be my companions during those cold afternoons.

I'm sure the next month will not move along quick enough for ya Frank, hope you have a fine Fall.
I've been thinkin about Fall fishin myself, I need to get some stillwater nymphs tied up soon.

Dave,
Thursdays are a no go @ the moment(a couple weeks training for the new guy). With Fall clean-ups coming, we definately need to try to get together in a few weeks, maybe things will be settled down for you by then also.

We sold our trailer last night, hopefully we can get our older drift boat sold in the next week or so, it would be nice to have the new boat paid for.

Where's Dorian and Larry?

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Fysh

I've been REAL busy lately working projects trying to get completed before school starts next week. We always get real busy this time of year with students and faculty returning. This year has been bad with all of the construction activity trying to get completed before school starts.

Floated the North Platte from Treasure Island to Saratoga last weekend. It was an excellent float and I had Lambster in the boat providing some rowing tips so that was really nice. This time of year the river gets pretty low so we had to get out and drag the boat over a few riffles. My rowing skills are definately getting better, just takes practice and a little help from the pros.
We are planning on going up to Grey Reef tomorrow.

Larry

Hi Larry

Glad to hear someone is getting out and using their boat. You'll be the pro giving rowing tips next season!! Seems everyone is busy this summer, except the tourists. LOL

Amen to that brother. Last few nights I've been having dreams about the brown trout spawn out of 11 mile res. The water level in the river is ideal the res is full, fish reports on the res indicate FAT browns. Should be the best spawn in years. Hubba Hubba, hubbbbbbbbbbbbaaaaaaaaaaaa hubbbbbbbaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Oh, god. I gotta get out more often.
