Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hey Y'all,
Just sittin here having my mornin cup of Coffee, and thought I would check in,
Good to see you folks, hope all is well.

Frank, I can't believe you have not been out all Summer! Those fish are callin you.
I seen the forum #'s recently, that is great and it should be an Awsome Winter around here.
I've had all Summer sittin on the Mower to come up with subject matter, some good and some not so good, lol.

Skibum, good to see you also, I thought you had fallen off the face of Montana never to be heard from again, Glad your still around.

A question for you, I have looked at the Fantasy Football sight/link that you posted and I cannot find you, Do you have another name on there?
Would like to know so I could join and atleast know someone.

Davey Boy, we can hardly wait for this weekend(my wifes' Birthday), and this sounds like a great float. We need to post some pics afterwords......

As you mentioned the weather is starting to look a little dicey to say the least, but hey a little rain and snow is good for the soul.
Looking at a couple sites and they mentioned that wade fishing is a good alternative right now with the lower flows.

Looking forward to "The Chop House" for dinner with you also, I hope your gonna be hungry Big Boy, Lol.

Still missin a couple folks, Larry and Dorian.

Larry, sorry about your Transmission(R.I.P), we still need to plan a big group outing for next year, this season as Dave alluded to was a wierd year, late Spring, weather, work schedules, etc.

Dorian, where the heck are you???
He's been "missing in action" for a long time it appears, that new kickboat is gonna be wore out after 1 season, lol.

Have a good day Gentleman, and I will talk to you midweek Dave.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hey Fysh

No worries, low flows make the fish easier to locate. Something to do with fewer options. LOL.

I never pass up the opportunity to belly up to a great steak at the "Chop House". One of the few places in town that stocks my scotch.

Fysh and Davo

Good to see you guys posting again! Sounds like you have a great trip planned for this weekend. Hope everyone has a great time!

Still haven't heard anything from Dorian, he must have been real busy this summer.

I went out Saturday but didn't feel very well so I cut the trip short. Then on Sunday I drove over to High Savery Reservoir to have a look, as I had never been there before and wanted to get a look at the dirt road once you leave the pavement before trying to haul the boat over. The Snowy Range Fly Casters did a trip out there last Thursday, I couldn't go due to projects at work. They were targeting Tiger Trout. Here is a link depicting the reservoir and what Tiger Trout are. High Savery Reservoir Wyoming. Fish High Savery Reservoir. High Savery  State records

Yes indeed, we will have to get a group fishing trip planned for next year!

Larry

I am MTSkibum on there as well.

Some pictures from this summer.

That cutty was from the greybull river.

The fish were all that bright golden color.

I thought this was the best looking stream i fished all year. The water was crystal clear in even the deepest holes.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

After a long hiatus, I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is. It has been a busy summer working in the yard, fishing, taking care of some family stuff and work (obviously). Oh, that and I started reading the Harry Potter books after trying not to for years. My wife finally talked me into it!

Anyway, with the cold weather settling in I look forward to spending some time in front of the computer and hanging out with you guys!

On a side note, I cast a 6wt. Sage Z axis at Jimmy's in IF and fell in love with it. I had no idea a fast rod (the fastest I have ever cast) could be so easy to handle! I placed an order for the blank and will be building one this winter. I will keep you posted!

You guys catch many fish this summer? I got out a lot and fine tuned some of those skills I acquired last summer. I am definetely getting better and catching more fish. I fished mostly the Teton and South Fork this summer.

I could go on forever, I will catch up with you guys later. Hope you're all doing well!!

BTW...MTSkibum....nice pics except for the Steelers shirt. Robbed my Seahawks of a superbowl title and I will forever hate the Steelers and think there was a conspiracy with the refs.

Dorian

Welcome back, good to hear you had a great summer. I figured you must have worn out that new pontoon boat this summer.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Yeah, it's good to be back. Thanks!

Went wading on the SF Monday in the channels before Swan Valley and I got skunked!! I saw the fish, they were all holding in super slow water and were very easily spooked. I had a hard time even getting a strike. Thought they would be interested in BWO life cycle patterns, then tried some streamers....all to no avail.

How about you guys?

Hey Dorian

I foated last friday with a couple of friends and had a great day. We got into several schools feeding on BWOs. They were tiny, 18s and 20s. we did well with streamers too but it was a long spell between fish. They seem to be schooled up pretty good. When we got into them it would only last a short stretch then nothing till you found the next bunch.
