Re: The "Shout out" thread....
Hey Fysh
No worries, low flows make the fish easier to locate. Something to do with fewer options. LOL. I never pass up the opportunity to belly up to a great steak at the "Chop House". One of the few places in town that stocks my scotch. ![]()

Re: The "Shout out" thread....
Fysh and Davo
Good to see you guys posting again! Sounds like you have a great trip planned for this weekend. Hope everyone has a great time! Still haven't heard anything from Dorian, he must have been real busy this summer. I went out Saturday but didn't feel very well so I cut the trip short. Then on Sunday I drove over to High Savery Reservoir to have a look, as I had never been there before and wanted to get a look at the dirt road once you leave the pavement before trying to haul the boat over. The Snowy Range Fly Casters did a trip out there last Thursday, I couldn't go due to projects at work. They were targeting Tiger Trout. Here is a link depicting the reservoir and what Tiger Trout are. High Savery Reservoir Wyoming. Fish High Savery Reservoir. High Savery State records Yes indeed, we will have to get a group fishing trip planned for next year! Larry |

The fish were all that bright golden color. ![]() I thought this was the best looking stream i fished all year. The water was crystal clear in even the deepest holes.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....
After a long hiatus, I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is. It has been a busy summer working in the yard, fishing, taking care of some family stuff and work (obviously). Oh, that and I started reading the Harry Potter books after trying not to for years. My wife finally talked me into it!
Anyway, with the cold weather settling in I look forward to spending some time in front of the computer and hanging out with you guys! On a side note, I cast a 6wt. Sage Z axis at Jimmy's in IF and fell in love with it. I had no idea a fast rod (the fastest I have ever cast) could be so easy to handle! I placed an order for the blank and will be building one this winter. I will keep you posted! You guys catch many fish this summer? I got out a lot and fine tuned some of those skills I acquired last summer. I am definetely getting better and catching more fish. I fished mostly the Teton and South Fork this summer. I could go on forever, I will catch up with you guys later. Hope you're all doing well!! |

Re: The "Shout out" thread....
Yeah, it's good to be back. Thanks!
Went wading on the SF Monday in the channels before Swan Valley and I got skunked!! I saw the fish, they were all holding in super slow water and were very easily spooked. I had a hard time even getting a strike. Thought they would be interested in BWO life cycle patterns, then tried some streamers....all to no avail. How about you guys? |

I foated last friday with a couple of friends and had a great day. We got into several schools feeding on BWOs. They were tiny, 18s and 20s. we did well with streamers too but it was a long spell between fish. They seem to be schooled up pretty good. When we got into them it would only last a short stretch then nothing till you found the next bunch.
