The "Shout out" thread....

How about an ongoing thread where we just say Hello, leave a message for another, or just say what's on our mind?

I'll start by "Shouting out" to BigCliff.

Hope you have a great weekend fishing, really looks like some great water. Be safe and take lots of pics.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

The flows should stay relatively light until the runoff starts. They don't raise the flow till it really starts flowing in from above. I'm not sure how much they have tried to fill the Palisades this winter. According to the Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region website Palisades is 33% full with flow of 807 cfs. Jackson Lake is 40% full with flow of 327 cfs. Good news is that American Falls is 70% full. So it won't take much to fill that and then cut back to fill Palisades and Jackson. If you go to the South Fork Lodge website and click on the South Fork Outfitters link you can get info current as of March 11th.

They say it is walk in only right now. I do not know when they plow out the access. But hey, should only be a few weeks till ours are clear. You can always swing up through Alpine and fish Jackson. The early season before they let the runoff go is always good fishing. Thats the time of year when we have our guides days out. Only time we all have time off together. LOL. Guess I'll have to start digging out my Lavro.

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

I wish S.F.O. would update their fishing report more often, seems late Sep hits and they slow way down on updates.
Speaking of S.F.O. and you being a guide in the general area, do you happen to know Brett and Sue?(guides for S.F.O.)

I thought maybe you would have had a little runoff starting already, I imagine the "Big Flush" around the end of May will be a doozy this year, the channels below Byington will totally change up.
Sounds like it will be a fantastic year.

Can you tell me about the floats below Jackson Lake? lengths and take outs?

Re: The "Shout out" thread....

Hey Stryker

Break down of the stretch is a tall order so I'm working on an article with the basic details. Let you know when I post it. Probably be a couple days. It's a break down of the six stretches I know. Believe there are two additional stretches in the canyon but I've never floated down that far. I'll get back with more soon.
