Road trip to Idaho. Where to stop?

I'm gonna be driving from So. Cal. to Idaho (Parma) in a couple of weeks. Are there any "must try" spots on the way? I havent dedicated a route as of yet but was leaning toward the 395 to N. W. Nevada. Let me know please! Im jones'n to use my new rig. Thanks, Dan.
