San Gabriel River

I'm going to try my luck at the San Gabriel River's East Fork tomarrow morning. Has anyone else been up there this year?

Salmo Nella
I did alright for the area. It was my first time using a fly rod in a stream. I tried dry flys and caught probably 12 or so of the little native 'bows in the 2-3 hours I was out. I love watching the fish come up and take your fly and run. This sport is definately addicting! The next week I went with my Dad to another small stream for natives up past Johnsondale and did about the same. On the way up there we realized it had been 23 years since we have fished the area together, time flies. This week's journey will be the Eastern Sierras, hopefully I can get something bigger than these local 6" fish
