3 letter searches?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to search for three letter words. Are all of them just permanently blocked? It's strange to have this kind of search feature on a fly fishing forum because there are so many 2 and 3 letter words that are informative. For instance, it's impossible to search for any references to 6wt, 6 wt, or six wt. Rod and reel manufacturers have some three letter abbreviations too. Consider doing a search for Sage 3wt SPL fly rod, the search discards "3wt," "SPL," and even "fly" and "rod".

I wonder if there's a way the admin could change the search so there are exceptions to the 3 letter or less exclusion rule?

We could get the members here of like mind to make a list of the more obscure of these sorts of words...besides the obvious ones of "fly" and "rod"

As someone who visits lots of forums, this is something that is universal, not something that is just limited to these forums.

Re: 3 letter searches?

Well that's true enough and I've been on enough similar forums to know that too. But there is one forum, which I think uses the same software, that the admin decided to have some exceptions to the three letter or less exclusion rule. So I'm pretty sure setting up a list of exceptions to the rule is possible with this forum software.

What do you think about it...shouldn't it be possible to do a search for 7wt fly rod? or are there just not enough posts in this forum and people can just browse old posts looking for references to what they want to find? My thoughts are that there's a lot of very valuable information on this site and it should be readily accessible because it's worth reading.
