Etiquette question

Is it accceptable to direct someone to another flyfishing website similar to this one? I'm thinking of the case where someone asks "How do I make a triple tailing loop forward cast with a half twist?" Is it OK to send someone to a site that shows you how, though that site has commercial advertisements and sponsors? I looked at the rules page but wasn't sure if that was OK.

Re: Etiquette question

I would say it is acceptable. There are some FF'ing sites out there that have been around for many years and/or are dedicated to compiling types of info/articles/media that we don't really specialize in. I see no problem with posting links to those sites.

What would be poor etiquitte would be something along the lines of "this site sux and _______.com is much better, you oughta join up with us over there". I'm sure you already knew that though.

It also could be poor form to post link to sites that convey the attitude "all other FF'ing sites are for ignorant noobs and you would be a fool to look anywhere else". I can't think of any off of the top of my head but there are definitely some out there.

Good question, thanks for giving us the opportunity to clarify. Let me know if anyone has objections to my response.
