Re: How Many Fly Rods Do You Own

Right now I probably have around ten rods in the house but I have been in the process of thinning the herd. I really only use or need three of them so I am ebaying a good portion.

I also have been thinning reels. I am down to two that I use so I have also been ebaying some of those. Trying to get realistic about this fly fishing thing.

And I only have one set of golf clubs.

Re: How Many Fly Rods Do You Own

3wt- 7' St. Croix Imperial circa '95. Bought second hand from a preacher, landed 10lb carp recently.

4wt- 9' Sage VPS Light. Working on 2000 fish landed on that one.

6wt- 10' Scott Alpha. Love/hate relationship. Love it when amount of line out stays between 30-50 feet and/or need to manage line.

8wt- 7'6" Loomis GL2 built from spin blank. Too stiff, might need a 10 wt shooting head. Really.

9wt- 8'8" Scott HeliPly. Boomer, Hoss, Crowbar, Cannon, haven't decided what it's next name will be.

Re: How Many Fly Rods Do You Own

Curtis,
I am in Island Park 3-4 days and here 3-4 days for the next 4 weeks or so. I have a little more time up there to wet a line then here. You ready to try Idaho? Backseat available for you and your gear. The Henry's is calling, or is it the Madison? I am ready to test the foot. Extra bedroom available and soon a new kitchen. Won't cost you a thing! Leaving this Thursday about 11 am.
