Re: How Many Fly Rods Do You Own
Well I got a new one to day for the dry fly. I fished it about an hour before dark. It is a little slower than my other rods but has a feel of its own. I landed several small browns and one 14" and it put a nice bow in it:
winston Lt 5 in a 3 wt. 7ft 9 in. Other rods include: winston 4wt BIIx winston 6wt BIIx winston 8wt BIIx I know there are other nice rods but really haven't found it necessary to look further. I also used galvin OB reels. just so you know, don't tell my wife. mike |

Re: How Many Fly Rods Do You Own
Mike that 7'9" 3wt Lt is a jewel. That's probably the only Winston I would pay for. Balanced well and has that "perfect for trout casts" action. I don't really have a beef with Winston, its just that I'm one of those weirdos that would rather have a Scott G than a WT. Want a Scott e2 as well, but (insert favorite "wish" based saying here, i.e. "you can wish in one hand and crap in the other...")

Re: How Many Fly Rods Do You Own
Three.5wt - 8.5" graphite6wt - 9.0' boron (old)6wt -9.0' glass (old)The 6wts were my dad's along with two or three automatic reels. How people used those things is beyond me.I used to have my grand dad's 8.5' bamboo rod, but I loaned it to a buddy. It now rests on the bottom of Lake Popalopan (sp?) in downstate New York along with a brand new reel, line, backing and a round box with about 50 dry files. The friendship didn't last.
