I want to start Walleye fishing, and I have no idea on what size or what fly I should use. Sinking or floating line, and etc., any input would be great. Thanks.
Diver Dan has a few good posts on the subject. Just search post titles for Walleye flies and you should find them pretty easily. Hes got lots of pictures (many with bridges).
I'm gunning for Walleye too, so keep us updated on how you come out.
My favorite fly for Walleye is the Clouser. It is beyond a doubt the most productive fly I have used. On rare occasions though, the Walleye are not on the bottom. I have come up with some flies that work for that also. I'll look for the photos and post it when I get home. Not home right this minute.
Subscribed. This is one of my goals this summer is to catch a few Walleye on my fly rod. Hopefully I can get a nice one and make all my buddies at work with their $20K+ boats jealous.
Thought I would add this from farther down the page. A lot of good info there.
Dan is the man for big eyes. Clousers work well for me and in my walleye fishing floating lone has been fine . I'm sure there are places where you may need sinking .
