WOW this was fast theflystop.com
placed my order yesterday,
emailed company at Wednesday 12:30 saying i placed it and if it can go out same day
at 2:25 got an answer saying its picked and will go out right away
today is Thursday, mail man just stopped by, and delivered my order.
WOW less then 24 hour turn around time *(San Diego to Los ANgeles)
im busy at the moment, but little later ill open up all the flies and will report back on the quality, etc, or if they were all picked correctly.

not to highjack the thread all to myself
but i finally had lunch and went through my order of flies:
1. 24 hr turn around time/great service
2. all flies quality seems to be just fine
3. i ordered 62 SKU's (model/color/size) all in qty of 1 to 3 flies. all were picked correctly and easy to sort, my total was 100+ flies
4. i also orderd nice little box with foam that has splits already made for hooks, and wow i like it. It does say this box can hold some 320 flies, but honestly unless they are all size 16 and under, i wouldnt try to do it. i spaced mine every other space

In the past I worked for a fly company and did a lot of testing on flies and hooks. I guess it was because I am an old engineer and I have to take things to the breaking (or bending) point. Some hooks are brittle and others are easy to bend. I found that there are a lot of good hooks that are used by the internet discount tiers and they produce good flies. Just google "good cheap flies" and you can find flies that are 50 cents or less that are just that - good cheap flies. They will serve you well.

I suggest giving Jerry a shot at your fly needs. From the ones I have, I would say your not going to find anything out there equal or better. "The Miracle 100+"

rockriver is 100% correct!!! Jerry will give you very good flies at a reasonable price! You will also be supporting a very good cause.

Any other cheap flies you buy out there, you should consider adding head cement to the threads prior to fishing them. Many times, those cheap flies are tied quickly versus well. Jerry's flies are tied well.

Thanks for the kind words about my "bugs," rockriver and ts47. Much appreciated...

While I may not tie to make a living per se, I do tie for two very specific reasons-- my love of wrapping a hook, and to help fund the efforts to positively impact the lives of "my kids"-- kids tasked with battling/surviving cancer, just like me. When we gather on any given Saturday during the late Fall and Winter months for the weekly fly-tying classes, "my kids" often check their daily challenges/troubles at the front door...

And, in truth, I sometimes wonder who benefits more-- "my kids," or me and mine, and the fishing friends/cronies who lend a hand whenever possible...

It's back to the vise for me, my friends. Have a great and safe 4th of July...

But Percy's flies don't have what I want more Bluegill flies and a bigger selection on warmwater flies. Any1 know good website's that's worth checking out for discounted flies?
