Re: Name Your Trout Top Ten Nymph & Dry Flies
Quite honestly, I really don't fish with 20 fly patterns but here is my list, pretty much the usual boring suspects:
Wets:
Pheasant tail (bead head/flashback) and unweighted
Copper John (red), also use green when Caddis are active
Prince nymph
Hare's ear
Stone fly (20-inched) makes a nice attractor
RS-2
BWO Emerger
Wolly Bugger (Barr's Slump Buster)
Dries:
Parachute adams
Elk Hair Caddis
Tricos
Plan to try the Barr's Vis-a-Dun this year based on Landon Mayer's recommendation as his "#1 dry fly"

Oh, I was going to mention that I know a fellow who fishes with only 3 flies: Parachute Adams, Elk Hair Caddis and pheasant tails. He certainly catches more fish than myself or some of my buds. Maybe not as much fun though.
