Have been going through flys for the upcoming season and putting some of dad's flys (he used a fly until it was in trashed) in my box that he used before he passed three years ago at 92 and his last flyfishing year.
I came across what I think is left of his remaining Mackay Special that everybody used on the Big Lost and Little Lost River in Idaho. My understanding is that the originals were tyed with horsehair and appear to be woven orange on the bottom. If I can figure out how to do macro on my camera will try to post it up this weekend. Have been checking the web but the only thing I am finding is a McKay Special. Not even close, so reaching out to any more advanced in age guys in Idaho who have ever heard/used it.
