When we had our hatch of the 17 year Cicadas, everything in the water was gorging themself on the bugs and it was a blast. Here's my Cicada fly, tied on a #6 200R style hook:
mcnerney, bmbailes and tbum2020 like this.

Pretty sweet looking Cicada pattern! If you don't mind would you do a step-by-step or as a minimum list out the materials, I'd like to tie up a few.

Some really nice patterns The only Pattern I have is one given to me which was Tied in Tasmania.
We get them the same as The one in Larry's Pic as well as an Olive one the same size then there's a real large one which is about 2 inches long.
You can always tell when they are about from the sound they make.
Brian.

I can't help but think that a good ol' sneaky Pete would work just as well as anything else

Yep...the good old Brood II, getting to fish this hatch is the male equivalent to hookin' up with Angelina Jolie.

I believe i tied almost the exact pattern when I fished the Cicada's a few years back on the Little Junitia River in PA. Tied a few boxes worth and now I give them away as strike indicators.

Here is exactly what you need. I've tied a few and they aren't hard at all.

This link has a full walkthrough. If you have a chance, take a look at some other patterns here. It's an amazing site for warm water fly fishing knowledge and all patterns have detailed walkthroughs and fishing tips.
