Default Big articulated flies for salmon....advice please

Hi Guys,

Can anybody enlighten me on patterns for tying articulated streamers for kings and sea run trout. Will be fishing the South of Chile and thought if they work up north then why not try them down south.

Cheers

Mark

Here are a couple just to give you some ideas, feel free to experiment. You can pretty much tie anything this way, using a "tail" of marabou on the front hook to cover the connection and fill in the gap between fron and rear hooks. But these are also very effective:

Circus Peanut
M.Chance Flyfishing Specialties - Personal Fly Patterns Library

Wild Thing
CDC Parachute

and the Zoo Cougar on 1 or 2 hooks:
Bob Linsenman's Au Sable Angler: 989-826-8500: Michigan fly fishing shop and flyfishing guides on Michigan's Au Sable (Ausable) River in Mio, Michigan. Serving flyfishers with fly rods, fly reels, fly lines, trout flies, flyfishing accessories, and g

For the big fish you're chasing I'd use doubled 20lb dacron for the connector if you're using the rear hook as a stinger, and use 0X or 1X tippet to fly.

Good luck!
