Default Casting problem

I am a little new to fly fishing. When i cast forward, my leader gets all tangled up and hit my fly line. What am i doing wrong? Am i not loading the rod correctly?

Sounds like you have a tailing loop. There are several causes for this. I would google "Tailing loops". You'll get a lot of info.

Basically, you're probably adding too much power too early in the cast

I have noticed that if I stop my forward cast too soon this happens. Extending the length of the cast a little helped my problem.

Don't try to muscle your cast and don't stop your rod too low. Focus on your timing.
